“KASHI FIRE” – NEW VIDEOCLIP BY CEMENTO ATLANTICO OUT NOW

Cemento Atlantico – new video for ‘Kashi Fire’ OUT NOW on our YT channel! enjoy!

This time, the setting and the field recordings take shape in Uttar Pradesh, in the city of Varanasi on the banks of the sacred Ganges, where the Varuna and Asi rivers converge.

Varanasi is also known as Benares or Kashi (in ancient Sanskrit), meaning “city of light,” whose central temple preserves the eternal flame of Shiva, from which every funeral cremation fire originates.

The video seeks to document the contradictions, religious key points, and customs of the final funeral rites that take place day and night at the Manikarnika ghat, the oldest and most sacred stairway on the banks of the Ganges River. For Hindu people, dying here brings liberation (moksha) from the cycle of reincarnation (saṃ sāra).
